AWARD AND HONOURS
The Association of Hydrologists of India annually confers the following Awards and Honours in recognition of excellence and contributions in the field of Hydrological Sciences.
- NGRI-AHI Indian National Hydrology Lecture Award
- NGRI-AHI-Life Time Achievement Award in Hydrology
- NGRI-AHI-Young Hydrologist Award
- AHI-Dr. S.C. Puranik
- AHI-Phani Kishore Award
NGRI-AHI Indian National Hydrology Lecture Award
The National Geophysical Research Institute (CSIR-NGRI) and Association of Hydrologist of India (AHI) have jointly instituted "NGRI-AHI Indian National Hydrology Lecture Award" in 2010. The award is conferred on eminent Hydrologists who have contributed significantly to the advancement of Hydrological Sciences in India.
- The Lecture award will be annually awarded to an eminent national /international hydrologist who has made an outstanding contribution to hydrology with special focus on India.
- The contributions should have significant national and international impact.
- Candidates who have made significant contributions in academic and R & D lines with a balanced approach to both theoretical and field research will have and added advantage.
- The nominations can be made by Institutions, Organisations and Reputed Scientists.
- The Award will carry a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/- and a brief citation.
- The Awardee will be requested to deliver a Lecture at a scientific meeting organised by CSIR-NGRI / AHI in India.
- Wherever necessary the Award winner will be provided travel expenses and local hospitality limiting such expenditure up to a maximum of Rs. 10,000/-

NGRI-AHI Lifetime Achievement Award in Hydrology
In addition to the above, the NGRI-AHI Lifetime Achievement Award was also instituted in 2012
- The NGRI-AHI Life Time Achievement Award in Hydrology will be awarded annually to an eminent national / international hydrologists who made significant contributions to promote hydrological sciences.
- The contributions should have a significant impact at national / international levels.
- The nominations can be made by Institutions, Organizations and Reputed Scientists.
- The Award will carry a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/- and a brief citation and a plaque.
- Wherever necessary the Award winner will be provided travel expenses and local hospitality limiting such expenditure up to a maximum of Rs. 10,000/-

NGRI-AHI-Young Hydrologist Award
The NGRI-AHI-Young Hydrologist Award in Hydrology was instituted in 2013.
- The NGRI-AHI Young Hydrologist Award will be awarded annually to a promising scientist who made significant research and innovative contributions to Hydrological sciences with a special reference and scope to Indian Hydrological science.
- The candidate should not have completed the age of 40 years as on 31st December, 2016
- The contributions should have a significant impact at national / international levels.
- The nominations can be made by Institutions, Organizations and Reputed Scientists.
- The Award will carry a token cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- and a brief citation.
- The Awardee will be requested to deliver a Lecture at a scientific meeting organized by CSIR-NGRI / AHI.
- Wherever necessary the Award winner will be provided travel expenses and local hospitality limiting such expenditure up to a maximum of Rs. 5,000/-
